Chapter 6- Story With No TitleThe summer sun shone brightly from directly overhead, casting it’s warm light over the daytime world I had so rarely been able to see in my young life. I squinted against the intense glare, moving both my hands up to shield my eyes from the sunlight I usually avoided so strongly. In my blind ambitions to escape, I had managed to get quite far away from the castle. I slowed my pace, blinking several times until my vision adjusted, and took a look around. Chapter 5- Story With No TitleI had barely taken one step away from Mirabelle’s door when a sudden voice barked sharply at me from behind. “Brent!” my mother’s voice was harsh and impatient, “Look at yourself-- you’re an absolute mess!” I snapped my head up and put up both my palms as though to defend myself against her anger. You never would have guessed that she had been drenched in blood and rainwater the previous night; she was in her best dress, and her long black hair was all pinned up with jeweled ornaments.
